To be an effective partner, we need to know you and your situation. It all starts with a conversation — about your business, your finances, and what you need help with.

The best way to get started is to simply contact us via email or our contact form. We'll arrange a chat, either in person or over a call, to get to know your situation better.

At our initial consultation, we'll discuss your bookkeeping and tax needs and any concerns you may have about your current arrangements. We'll work closely with you to understand your current situation and outline exactly what we can do to help.

This meeting is at our expense and there is no commitment on your part to proceed any further.

Initial Consultation

  • Building a relationship of trust with your bookkeeper or tax agent is key to getting the support you actually need.
  • Be prepared for your first meeting — bring any recent statements or records, and ask lots of questions.
  • Expect a candid, straightforward conversation in your initial meeting — it's important for us to understand your situation properly from the start.

Preparing for Your First Meeting.

Your bookkeeper or tax agent will want to understand your situation, not just process your paperwork.

Your first meeting with us marks the beginning of an important working relationship. Just as you trust your doctor with your health and your mechanic with your car, you'll be entrusting us with something important too — your bookkeeping and your tax obligations.

Meeting with us for the first time, you can expect a friendly, straightforward conversation — we're just getting to know your situation. There's no obligation, no pressure, and no fee for your first meeting. You should be candid about your current bookkeeping setup, any outstanding lodgements, and what you're hoping to achieve. You should also feel comfortable asking as many questions as you'd like.

To prepare, it helps to think about what you want from the relationship — getting overdue books up to date, ongoing monthly bookkeeping, or simply a reliable tax return each year.

In advance of the meeting, we'll send you a checklist of items to bring along, including your ID and relevant financial documentation. We take your privacy and personal information seriously and handle it with full confidentiality.

Getting Ready.

Questions to think about in advance of the meeting.

If you haven't already, think about what you need help with. Come prepared to answer these questions:

  • Are your books currently up to date, or is there a backlog?
  • Was there a recent event that caused you to look for a bookkeeper or tax agent?
  • Do you have any overdue BAS or tax lodgements?
  • Are you currently using accounting software (Xero, QuickBooks, MYOB), or paper/spreadsheets?
  • Are you planning any business changes, like taking on staff or restructuring?
  • Do you have a Self-Managed Super Fund that needs bookkeeping or tax support?
  • What's your ideal level of involvement — do you want to hand everything over, or stay hands-on?
  • What's your biggest current frustration with your bookkeeping or tax situation?

It's a good idea to write down your questions and priorities beforehand — just so you don't forget anything during your meeting.
